The house rules of the puppet theatre

1. Who holds the crosspiece

These house rules apply whenever you use marionettepier.com (“Marionette Pier”, “we”, “us”), which the operator of marionettepier.com runs. Taking a seat on the site means agreeing to them.

2. Who may sit in the stalls

Seats at Marionette Pier are for users aged 18 or over alone; taking one confirms that you are 18 or over.

3. Coins in the waistcoat pocket

• Every act runs on virtual coins handed across the footlights free of charge.
• Coins are stage money in the truest sense: no monetary value, and not money, credit or property of any kind.
• Coins stay inside the theatre: none may be purchased, sold, withdrawn, transferred or traded for money, goods, services or prizes, and the pier has no in-app purchases.
• No prize of real-world value is ever brought on stage.
• Between performances we may recast, adjust or reset coins, levels and features at any time.

4. No real money on the bill

Marionette Pier will not offer or promote real-money gambling, and no signpost on the pier points to a gambling operator.

5. Your place in the company

• Scoop Steeple and Wheezewhistle Steamer need a free account. One account for each person, and no sharing.
• Keep your password between you and the dressing-room mirror, and tell us at once if anyone else has been using your account.
• Take your final bow from the account page whenever you like: deletion is instant and there is no encore.
• Meringue may pull the curtain on an account that disrupts the site, or on one she believes is held by someone under 18.
• Coins, levels and missions are props of the account, not your property, and they may be reset.

6. Conduct in the theatre

Keep the show running: never try to disrupt the site, set scripts or bots on it, trade coins with anyone, or let an under-18 work the strings.

7. Performances and liability

The site is presented “as is”, and we may recast or withdraw any part of the show. A malfunction voids all plays and pays. These house rules do not limit any liability the law forbids limiting, and your statutory rights are left exactly where they were.

8. The law the theatre plays under

The law of England and Wales governs these house rules.
